Emili graduated in 2011 from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). Already as a student, and thank to the great lectures from his neuroanatomy and neuropathology professors, he developed a special interest in neurology. He undertook a rotating internship in the UAB Teaching Hospital, after which he did some externships in referrals hospitals in the UK and USA. He then worked for over two years as an out-of-hours vet in Mataró, next to Barcelona.
In 2016, Emili moved from Catalonia to England to work in a busy first opinion practice in Liverpool. He then joined the Animal Health Trust as a Neurology Intern and completed a three-year residency in Veterinary Neurology at the Small Animal Teaching Hospital (University of Liverpool). Afterwards, Emili joined ChesterGates Veterinary Specialists as a Neurology Clinician. After passing his board exam in 2021, he became a European Specialist in Veterinary Neurology.
