Francisco graduated in 2003 at University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain). After that he completed a rotating general internship where he developed a strong interest in ophthalmology. He spent several years in general practice until 2009 when he got the postgraduate certificate in veterinary ophthalmology at Autonomous University of Barcelona.
Next years he pursued towards higher level of specialization visiting well known ophtho practices with ECVO and ACVO diplomates, doing some CPDs and attending international congresses and meetings. In the meantime, he worked for several referral hospitals in Spain and with exclusive dedication to ophthalmology since 2011. He started the ECVO residency in September 2018 and attempts to sit the credential examination in 2022.
He regularly participates in courses helping general practitioners improve their ophtho knowledge and skills and enjoys teaching as he had the opportunity to gain experience doing his residency in a teaching hospital.
He enjoys all aspects of ophthalmology, but has a special interest in corneal and cataract surgery, glaucoma, ocular surface and ocular therapeutics
