Jacques graduated from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, with a Bachelor’s of Science in 2006, after which he enrolled in a Bachelor’s of Veterinary Science which he completed in 2011. With the intention of moving into anaesthesia, Jacques enrolled and completed a rotating internship in 2012 at the Onderstepoort Veterinary Academic Hospital in 2012. Jacques moved back to academia the year there after, starting an anaesthesia residency in 2013. During the three-year residency, Jacques completed a Master’s in Science and Medical Master’s in veterinary anaesthesia. From 2016 till 2018, Jacques lectured veterinary anaesthesia at the University of Liverpool. In 2018 Jacques Joined the private referral practice, “Willows Veterinary Centre and Referral Service”. At Willows, Jacques is a consultant anaesthetist and runs the chronic pain clinic.
