Jorge obtained his degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Zaragoza (Spain). His interest in Cardiology led him to undertake a 3 months externship in a Cardiorespiratory center in England. After which he completed a rotating internship in a referral hospital in Barcelona followed by a year as a general practitioner.
Jorge moved to the United Kingdom where he did an internship in the Cardiology service of the School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh. In September 2012 he began a 3-year Residency program in Cardiology under the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ECVIM-CA) in the Small Animal Hospital of the University of Glasgow. He has visited Universities in the United States (Ohio Veterinary School and Florida Veterinary School) and human hospitals (Golden Jubilee National Hospital, Glasgow and the Pediatric Cardiology Unit of the Gregorio Marañon Hospital, Madrid).
He regularly presents in national and international congresses and he is involved in clinical research projects. Jorge has published in recognized scientific journals.
During the last years Jorge has been working as a freelance cardiologist in a number of institutions including Veterinary Schools (Glasgow, Bristol and Liverpool), private hospitals (SouthZields Veterinary Specialists), as a mobile cardiologist in North West England and North Wales and establishing a Cardiology service in the North of Spain (Anicura Uribe Kosta).
Jorge obtained the European Diploma in Veterinary Cardiology DipECVIM-CA (Cardiology) in March 2018 and he is a recognized European Specialist in Veterinary Cardiology (EBVS).
