Verónica graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Complutense University of Madrid in 2001 and obtained a PhD in Neurosciences from the same university in 2005. She completed a residency in Anesthesiology at Cornell University (United States) from 2005 to 2008. She became a diplomate of the American College of Anesthesia and Analgesia (ACVAA) in 2010 and of the European College of Anesthesia and Analgesia (ECVAA) in 2018. She is a RECOVER certified instructor in cardiopulmonary resuscitation by the American College of Emergency and Intensive Care since 2019. She also obtained the Diploma in “University Medical Teaching ” by the University of Dundee (UK) in 2014.
She has worked as a clinical anesthetist at the Animal Health Trust (United Kingdom) from 2008 to 2010. Since 2010 she has been the head of the Anesthesiology Service at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital of the Alfonso X el Sabio University (Spain). She is also course coordinator of the Anesthesiology course at the Veterinary Faculty of the Alfonso X el Sabio University. She is currently supervising several PhD proyects related to clinical anesthesiology.
She is a member of the North American Society of Veterinary Anesthetists (NAVAS), as well as the Spanish Society of Anesthesia and Analgesia (SEAAV) and an accredited member of the Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia group of AVEPA (GAVA).
Her clinical interests include cardiopulmonary resuscitation, neuroanesthesia, anesthesia of critical and emergency patients, as well as pain management.
